This project began as a personal initiative to improve my SEO skills, focusing on the motel sector in Chile due to its manageable competition. I created a review-style website, such as “the best motels in…”, implementing on-page SEO strategies, long-tail keyword research, and technical optimization. Within the first year, I achieved over 500 daily visits, with notable metrics like a 3.3% CTR and 2 visits per active user, competing with major players like Booking. Tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, and Screaming Frog were essential for measuring and optimizing performance.
Recently, traffic has grown by 100% due to the creation of new content and improvements to existing materials, showcasing consistency to Google. This project has allowed me to learn and strengthen skills like time management, indexing, and developing effective strategies. My long-term goal is to reach 30,000 monthly visits, positioning this guide as a benchmark in its sector.
This project reflects my passion for SEO and commitment to continuous learning. Beyond the results, it has been a space to explore, experiment, and grow professionally, tackling industry challenges and finding strategic solutions.
On my personal blog, I share progress and insights, not only as a way to document my journey but also to provide value to others interested in SEO. My unique approach, creativity, and adaptability have allowed me to tackle this project successfully, standing out in a competitive market.
